Data Deletion
You can ask us to delete your account and all data associated with it at any time. This page explains exactly how — both for the BuildDaily Service itself and for data we received from connected platforms (TikTok, Instagram, YouTube, X, Threads).
In-app deletion (fastest)
If you have an active account:
- Sign in at app.builddaily.app.
- Go to Settings → Account → Delete account.
- Confirm with your password. Your account is queued for deletion immediately.
- You'll receive a confirmation email within minutes, and a final completion email within 7 days.
Deletion by email
If you can't access your account, or you prefer email:
- Email Support@builddaily.app from the address on file (or, if you don't have access, from any address with proof of identity — see below).
- Subject line:
Data deletion request. - Include the email associated with your BuildDaily account, and which connected platforms you'd like us to disconnect (or "all").
- If emailing from a different address, attach a screenshot of your BuildDaily login screen showing the registered email, or another reasonable proof of ownership.
We will acknowledge receipt within 2 business days and complete the deletion within 30 days (almost always within 7).
What gets deleted
- Your account record (name, email, hashed password, preferences).
- Generated content stored with your account (reels, carousels, image posts, threads).
- Source videos — note that source videos are normally deleted within minutes of processing, so by the time of deletion request these typically don't exist on our servers.
- Connected-platform tokens for TikTok, Instagram, YouTube, X, Threads — and we revoke them at the platform itself so the connection is severed both ways.
- Email and support history (transactional and conversational emails associated with your account).
- Usage data tied to your account.
What may remain (and why)
We may retain limited information after deletion, only as required by law or for well-defined operational purposes:
- Aggregated, anonymized analytics that cannot be linked to you (e.g., "X users used the carousel feature in May"). This data does not identify you and is not subject to deletion.
- Backups: our automated backups have a 30-day rolling retention. Your data is removed from active systems immediately and from all backups by the time the backup window rolls over (max 30 days).
- Records required by law: e.g., financial records for tax compliance (kept for up to 7 years per US/EU rules), but only the minimum required.
- Logs: server logs may briefly retain your IP for up to 30 days for security and abuse prevention; these are not used to identify you.
Connected platforms
When you delete your BuildDaily account, we revoke the OAuth tokens we hold for any connected platforms. This severs our access — but it does not delete the content you have already published on those platforms (those posts belong to your TikTok / Instagram / YouTube / X / Threads accounts).
You can also revoke our access directly at the platform, even before requesting BuildDaily deletion:
- TikTok: tiktok.com/setting/applications
- Instagram / Meta: Settings → Accounts Center → Security → Apps and websites
- YouTube / Google: myaccount.google.com/permissions
- X (Twitter): twitter.com/settings/connected_apps
Confirmation
When deletion is complete, we send a confirmation email to the address we had on file. If you do not receive a confirmation within 30 days, please email Support@builddaily.app.
